Job Description Summary

Adjunct faculty members must be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in an online and/or classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.


All faculty members must be skilled in oral and written communication and must be able to work cooperatively with other staff members.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with advance coursework in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or an Associate degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology with demonstrated competency in GIS field. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to online teaching excellence, the ability to work in a collegial manner with a highly diverse faculty, staff and student population. Candidates must be willing to complete a 10 week on-line teaching training course prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Occupational or teaching experience preferably in (GIS) or related field, with proven teaching strategies that promote student success. Occupational experience working in land surveying with preference to a licensed Land Surveyor. Candidates should possess sufficient technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant information and instructional technology resources. Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) and with Blackboard.
